Cholera laboratory


After a major outbreak in Karakalpakstan, a cholera laboratory was established at the Central Asian Anti-Plague Institute (modern NSCEDI) in 1967.

Main activities:

  • Development of promising scientific and practical directions in the study of the problem of cholera, implementation of planned scientific topics, operational and production work, identification of strains of cholera vibrio isolated on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
  • Providing advisory, methodological and practical assistance.
  • Personnel training.
